Audiobook Quality (4/5): The audiobook was decently done, no complaints. I borrowed this audiobook through Audible Escapes. Series Info/Source: This is the first book in the Tales of the Frog Princess series. I do NOT recommend this audiobook to ANYONE with ears of any kind. But the reader sounds like a 40 year old woman who took elocution classes and failed out. I have never even heard an unscripted BREATH from any recorded reader before, but this one? I am pretty sure I can hear spit strings *wretch* ! The second strike that I cannot forgive is that the book is written in first person from the perspective of a 14 year old girl. It’s soooo off-putting, to say the very least. This is the first time EVER in all my years of listening to audiobooks that I could not tolerate the recorded reader! First and foremost I CAN HEAR ALL OF HER MOUTHSOUNDS. So I was attempting to keep pace with him by listening to the audio book. But he has more time on his 12 year old school boy hands than I do.
I am reading the series along with my middle-school aged nephew.
This is my first review and I’m sorry it will be such a negative one, but I assure you, it is warranted. Great Story, can’t listen to this reader!
